SHINKU COMPLETE is a neon-soaked, blood-drenched samurai vs. vampire epic that feels like a lost grindhouse classic reimagined for comics. Originally created by writer Ron Marz and the late artist Lee Moder, Shinku follows a modern-day samurai carving her way through an ancient vampire clan across Tokyo’s shadowy underworld. The original five-issue run built a cult following for its razor-sharp action, stylish horror, and unflinching tone. Now, this new collected edition not only gathers the original series but also honors the legacy of Lee Moder, who tragically passed away two years ago. It includes never-before-seen story pages, pin-ups, character designs, and the unfinished continuation of Shinku. This isn’t just a reprint! it’s a celebration of a brilliant artist and a genre mash-up that still cuts deep. If you missed it the first time, this is your chance to experience it in full and if you didn’t, you already know how special this is.

Sanguine Foundations is a 100-page graphic novel about identity, community, and magic with hip hop in its DNA and fantasy as its language. Jes Freeman, a Black trans woman about to start college, is whisked away to a magical university that isn’t quite what it seems. It’s a story that looks past the rose-colored glasses to ask what we do when the spaces we love no longer feel safe and how we build something better. This project was born out of love, frustration, and the real harm caused by rising transphobia, especially in creative spaces. It’s not a retelling, it’s something new, made for those who’ve felt pushed out of the stories they once called home. If you’ve ever needed a place to breathe, to be seen, or to feel powerful again, Sanguine Foundations is for you.

A sci-fi horror comic
There are very few times where I am genuinely upset that I don’t know more about a project than what is available on their page. This is one of those times. Nerve Gardens is absolutely beautiful, it caught my eye when looking for projects to add to this roundup and was an immediate purchase in my cart. Its just a standard sized comic with 44 pages that follows a space crew who need to sneak past an ancient AI. To stay hidden, they power down the ship and drift silently by—but someone onboard is trying to restart it. Already Storrs has me hooked with not only a sci-fi story but Goonface (yes that is their name and I love it) use of colors and art had me glued to their project. It feels so alien and thats the point of course, but it leaves me wanting more. I give this project my highest recommendation and I can’t wait to see this project release.
