This Angry Birds/The Birds short film by Gregg Bishop -- presented as part of G4's Epictober filmfest -- is not as funny as you might think given the premise; instead it's an Alfred Hitchcock fanfic kinda thing—and violent! But you will probably enjoy Jamie Alexander (Sif) and Amanda Baker looking very fetching.

Despite the awful, whitewashed M. Night Shyamalan movie, AVATAR: THE LAST AIRBENDER retains its passionate fanbase, and news of a sequel, THE LEGEND OF KORRA, a 26-episode miniseries, has had hearts a fluttering for some time. The trailer was released at Comic-Con, and the panel had lots of news about the show, which is slated to air next year.

Finally, a LARPing comedy. Finally. It seems they are going the GALAXY QUEST route, with LARPers having to face the real thing -- a soul-sucking succubus. This movie seemed to have much more buzz than some of the bigger ones shown at Comic-Con, so it definitely touched a nerve.

The Bruce Timm-designed superhero character The Flaming C -- aka Conan O'Brien -- has proven to have legs, probably because of that sexy fishnetssock garters combo he wears. Conan was a big topic at the big show, with an off-site art gallery, and a much hyped special appearance. Here's the trailer that made a guest appearance at the animated Green Lantern cartoon. While we'd totally watch a show that looked like this, maybe 73 is just long enough.

Ever wondered why there isn't a webseries that doesfor indie cartoonists with THE GUILD does for gamers? Well now there is! A few days ago The Beat's Shannon O'Leary alerted you to the existence of Derek Kirk Kim's new webseries, MYTHOMANIA, and now having watched it ourselves, it is SUPER AMAZING. Two episodes (or 9) now out tell the story of Andy Go, an aspiring indie cartoonists who lives in LA, gets rejected by publishers, hangs out with his friends arguing about Alan Moore, and hankers after a cool girl nerd cartoonist. Written and directed by Kim, it's sharp, funny and looks great -- AND it has cameos by Scott McCloud and, in an upcoming episode, Jason Shiga! WATCH IT NOW then come back for the commentary.

DC has released the video of Grant Morrison from the Hero Complex Film Festival talking about Superman. Since Morrison has already reinvented Superman once with ALL-STAR, this is familiar but welcome territory.
