Explaining Who the Gay Green Lantern Is To Your Non-Comics-Reading Friends
It's big news that Green Lantern is now gay, but there appears to be a little (a lot?) of confusion in the general public over which Green Lantern is gay. For that matter, there seems to be some confusion in the general public over how many Green Lanterns there are. You might be getting questions about this from your friends who don't read comics and you may find this is a little more complicated to explain than you'd first thought. Don't worry, I'm here for you. This is what you need to explain (or just point them here).
Final volume of BIZENGHAST to come out after all
As we've been noting, of late the ashes of Tokyopop have been stirring, and several volumes that were thought lost are actually coming out in one shape or another. BIZENGHAST #8 by M. Alice "Marty" LeGrow is the latest book to find a new life as a print-to-order book via The Right Stuf and digitally through Graphicly. BIZENGHAST was one of the most successful of all Tokyopop's homegrown manga (as making it to volume 8 would indicate) and it's been spun off into an art book, coloring book, novelization, animated shorts, merchandise, and a tabletop role-playing game, according to ICv2.

Frank Quitely covers Walking Dead #100
Frank Quitely has provided a variant cover for the landmark issue, which will be released at Comic-Con.
Creepy!
Weird medical comics are back with HARVEST
We've always had a soft spot for weird medical comics, from the plentiful manga genre —Tezuka's Black Jack and Akihito's The Ray—to Seifert and Ketner's Witch Doctor. And this seems to fit right in.
Is Disney Publishing chaos leaving an Ike-shaped hole?
It's been a while since we checked in on Disney Publishing and their impending move. Since then a lot has happened. As we recall from our own time at Disney, they have an entire department that does nothing but move people around, and this switch sounds like it was put in place just to give them something to do. Basically, as reported by Publishers Weekly, Disney is swapping its East and West Coast publishing houses, moving 100 people from White Plains and the NY office to Glendale, and 50 Disney Press people back to New York. Wha--? The moves will roll out from now until September 30th.
Checking In on the Extreme Relaunch / Liefeldverse
With the recent release of Youngblood #71, the relaunch of Rob Liefeld's Extreme universe is in full swing. I looked at the amazing Prophet and surprising Glory when they came out. Now it's time for the rest of the batch.
Digital Exclusives — The Direct Market All Over Again… But Only For Single Issues
In recent weeks, we've been seeing the exclusivity monster poke it's head up on the digital platform. Marvel's exclusive with Comixology. Valiant is exclusive with Comixology. DC might as well be exclusive with Comixology. But, for the most part, there appears to be a catch: the digital exclusives seem to be just for the monthly editions. Single issues if you prefer.

People have been asking why, when Peter and MJ's marriage had to end for story reasons, Northstar getting married is okay. Editor Tom Brevoort answered this on his Formspring:
Okay, now WB is getting in on the gay superhero PR action
We know this post will anger comics industry journalists, but after Disney's success getting PR for their gay-themed comic onThe View, it seems Turner/WB is getting in on the synergy action too. We just received a tip from a Turner PR person for this story on the HLN (Headline News) site.
Do DC's solicitations out the LGBT superhero?
Everyone does seem to be all hot and bothered about DC's gay superhero announcement. The really odd thing about all the hubbub is it really doesn't seem to have been planned out ahead of time... and as such, the June solicitations show perhaps a slightly different picture than all the buzz. Let's look at the actual timeline for all this:
