Dem01The House of Twelve’s wandering from bar to bar looking for a place to drink and draw have ended!

Say, remember when I said that we’d keep looking for a permanent home for the House of Twelve Comic Jams? Well, we found one!

Jack Demsey’s Pub, 34 West 33rd Street, between 5th and Broadway; right down the block from Jim Hanley’s. So on new comic day you can shop, drink and draw. The first wednesday of the month is now your full service comic night! We’ve scouted it a few times and today I spoke with the manager and arranged everything.

O’Hanlon’s was a decent place, but there was a definite problem with the back breaking tables there, no such thing with this joint. Demsey’s has a basement party room that we can have every month no problem. It’s well lit, has great tables, a pool table, our own cd player and easy access to the restrooms (the mens room even has a full, regulation sized door on the crapper, something both McCarthy’s and O’Hamlon’s lacked). It’s also a few steps away from Herald Square, N, R, F, B, Path all stop there, the 1, 2, 3 and LIRR are just a block away too.

So we’ll start there next week. Wednesday, May 2nd, 2007 at 7pm until 11ish. Demsey’s has a full range of beers, booze and pretty decent (albeit a little pricey) bar food. For more information and photos, check out the updated website.
