Next week BOOM! Studios will release Behold, Behemoth #1. The debut issue of the new horror series comes from the creative team of writer Tate Brombal, artist Nick Robles, and letterer AndWorld Design. The series follows a social worker whose nightmares begin to invade his waking life. Ahead of its release, BOOM! has released a first look preview for the issue.

Here’s how BOOM! describes Behold, Behemoth #1:

Greyson’s world is crumbling following his brother’s sudden and mysterious death. His sleepless nights are haunted by vivid nightmares of a terrifying monster, pushing him to the brink of losing both his sanity and his job as a social worker. But he’s truly shaken to the core when his newest case—a young orphaned girl named Wren—is found at the scene of a brutal murder, just hours after first meeting Greyson.

The line between nightmare and waking life blurs as Greyson soon discovers that the monster from his dreams might just be real—a mythical, ancient beast that is bringing about the end of the world, with shocking connections to both him and Wren…

Behold, Behemoth is writer Tate Brombal’s first original series, and his latest work for BOOM! Studios. Brombal has previously written books including the Black Hammer spinoff series Barbalien: Red Planet (with artist G.H. Walta), and the Something is Killing the Children spinoff series House of Slaughter (with co-writer James Tynion IV and artists Werner Dell’Edera and Chris Shehan).
