More comics publishers personnel moves coming out of ComicsPro as everyone is introducing their new teams and structures. This time it’s Bad Idea, which has just named Peter Stern to the position of Managing Editor, where he’s overseeing the BAD IDEA TWO publishing slate. He’ll run editorial operations and management including data reconciliation, asset tracking and talent onboarding, and work on such announced series as Megalith by writer Matt Kindt and artist Lewis LaRosa, and They’re All Terrible by writer Matt Kindt and artist Ramon Villalobos.

The publisher also announced the promotion of Anthony Militano to the position of Director of Data & Operations, up from Sales & Operations Manager. He joined the team in April 21, and was previously at Maximum Comics in Las Vegas. The new position will oversee the publisher’s Destination Store program worldwide, retailer relations and various ordering and operational duties,

BAD IDEA is currently finishing up their BAD IDEA TWO: Part One slate which included:

  • ORC ISLAND by writer Joshua Dysart and artist Alberto Ponticelli
  • THE ENDS by David Lapham & Maria Lapham
  • THE FINDER by writer Christos Gage and artist Tomas Giorello
  • ESCAPE FROM WYOMING by writer Robert Venditti and artist Jorge Monlongo

They also have joined the ranks of publishers running successful Kickstarter campaigns with the “Stop Bad Idea” campaign for The Hero Trade, which raised a tidy $146,000. 

Among future projects, the email teased covers by Joe Quesada and one by Rob Liefeld kicking off an “Image Founders” series.

Stern and Militano are at ComicsPro along with the rest of the publisher’s team: Vice President, Sales & Operations, Atom! Freeman; Vice President, Marketing, Josh Johns; and CEO & Chief Creative Officer, Dinesh Shamdasani – and creators Joshua Dysart and Robert Venditti.
