The guy who’s friends with everyone expands his network with the announcement of Archie Meets Flash Gordon #1, from writer Jeff Parker and artists Dan Parent and Rich Koslowski. The one-shot will crossover all the heroes and villains from both properties in a whacky sci-fi adventure triggered by Ming the Merciless Earth invasion beginning, of course, with the last bastion, Riverdale.
Having scripted both Archie Meets Batman ’66 and Flash Gordon, Parker says he’s convinced that the Riverdale cast can tango with just about anyone and any genre, “but it’s best when they get to really flex and go way outside their zone like say, the planet Mongo with Flash Gordon, King of the Impossible.”
Parker isn’t alone on his Archie crossover cred. The Archie Meets Flash Gordon one-shot is a reunification of sorts of the Archie Meets Batman ’66 team with Parent on board and Koslowski inked on Archie Meets KISS.
