Next month Archie Comics will release Fear the Funhouse Presents…Toybox of Terror. The middle-grade one-shot is part of the Archie Comics line’s Month of Mayhem Halloween celebration, and features a trio of stories about toys run amok. Yesterday Archie released an early look at interiors from each of the three stories.

Here’s how Archie describes Fear the Funhouse Presents…Toybox of Terror:

In Riverdale, even the toys are terrifying in this anthology one-shot set in the universe of last year’s Fear the Funhouse comic. Three tales of dolls, robots, and puppets gone awry all thanks to the work of a shadowy toymaker and a young girl intent on revenge, in the vein of the widely successful M3GAN movie and Child’s Play franchise.

The three stories in the anthology one-shot come from writers Timmy HeagueDanielle Paige, and Michael Northrop and artists Ryan CaskeyTango, and Ryan JampoleMatt Herms provides the colors for the full issue, while Jack Morelli letters all three stories. The whole package comes under a main cover by Caskey, and a variant cover by Sweeney Boo

“Since the release of the M3GAN movie earlier this year, I was inundated with pitches for stories about toys coming to life, and it became clear what the theme for this year’s Funhouse would be,” Archie Comics Senior Director of Editorial Jamie L. Rotante said back when the one-shot was first announced. “Pulling from both M3GAN as well as iconic series like Child’s Play with a dash of Small Soldiers thrown in for good measure, the writers for Toybox of Terror all delivered big time on their stories, with each one being a unique take on the theme, all with a special Archie flair.”

Check out the in-progress preview, featuring a pair of black and white pages from each of the one-shot’s three stories, below. The Fear the Funhouse Presents…Toybox of Terror one-shot is due out in stores and digitally on Wednesday, October 18th. The final order cut-off date for the issue is next Monday, September 25th.
