Back in September during DC FanDome’s Man of Tomorrow animated panel, actor Matt Bomer announced the upcoming slate of DC animated movies for 2021 including Justice Society: World War II and hinted he would be providing a voice. Sure enough, today courtesy of THR the full details of the Justice Society animated project have been unveiled including the cast.

Unsurprisingly the design and look of the film is reminiscent of Man of Tomorrow, not surprising since producer Butch Lukic is involved in Justice Society and hinted in an interview with The Beat that he would be utilizing the style in future projects.

The upcoming Justice Society: World War II will feature an ensemble voice cast led by Stana Katic as Wonder Woman and Matt Bomer as The Flash. As the THR mentions, both Katic and Bomer are no strangers to providing voices in the DC animated projects.

The cast for Justice Society: World War II includes Elysia Rotaru as Black Canary, Chris Diamantopoulos as Steve Trevor, Omid Abtahi as Hawkman, Matthew Mercer as Hourman, Armen Taylor as Jay Garrick, Liam McIntyre as Aquaman, Ashleigh LaThrop as Iris West, Geoffrey Arend as Charles Halstead/Advisor, Keith Ferguson as Dr. Fate and Darin De Paul as Roosevelt.

Jeff Wamester, known for the Guardians of the Galaxy TV series, is directing from a script by Meghan Fitzmartin (Supernatural, DC Super Hero Girls) and Jeremy Adams (Supernatural, Batman: Soul Of The Dragon). Jim Krieg (Batman: Gotham by Gaslight) and Kimberly S. Moreau (Batman vs. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles) are producing.

Between the comics and their inclusion in the Stargirl show, the Justice Society have definitely been getting a lot of love in the past few years. I was personally hoping to see Golden Age Alan Scott/Green Lantern in the animated lineup but alas it seems it’s not meant to be.
