Ahoy Comics has announced the return of its superhero spoof My Bad with a new, five-issue limited series debuting in May. Written by Mark Russell and Bryce Ingman, illustrated by Peter Krause and Joe Orsak, colored by Kelly Fitzpatrick, and lettered by Rob Steen, My Bad: Escape from Peculiar Island continues to explore a universe where heroes and villains are equally self-involved and incapable.
The new series will feature returning characters Acid Chimp, former POTUS John “Amazing” Adams,” and the crime-fighting Chandelier (AKA Jamington Winthrop). It will also introduce new characters including Captain Ohio, Professor Octopus, and beaver-penguin hybrids as seen on the main cover art for issue #1 by Krause.
“My Bad is hands-down the most fun I have as a writer,” Russell said. “These are stories that would grace the ‘never in a million years’ pile of most superhero publishers and I couldn’t be more proud of that. Collaborating with Bryce, Peter, and Kelly to bring these stories to life is something I hope I get to do for a long time.”
Ingman added, “Our whole team has been working day and night to ensure that My Bad: Escape from Peculiar Island will be the weirdest, funniest, most lovable little comic book on the market. I get loads of joy out of working on this book and I want to pass that joy along to the readers. If, for some unfathomable reason, you haven’t read My Bad yet, and you’re the type of person who enjoys smiling and laughing, you owe it to yourself to check this crazy comic book out!”
