In the new season six trailer for Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD a large truck barrels full throttle out of a portal, smashing numerous cars in its way. Based on the teases presented in the roughly two minute trailer, which dropped this afternoon, that image is representative of pace and emotional intensity we have in store for us this coming season.
Jumping out of that truck is actor Clark Gregg, whose iconic MCU character Phil Coulson faced his tragic end last season. Though Gregg is back it seems Coulson isn’t, and it’s hinted that this mysterious character doesn’t have virtuous intentions for Earth.
In addition to impressive cgi shots of quinjets and adrenaline pumping action it looks like there will be a lot of well-crafted character drama; our SHIELD agents, now being lead by Mack, will have to face a threat that looks like someone they cared about. “The person that is in there is not the man that you loved,” Daisy (Chloe Bennet) tells Agent May (Ming-Na Wen), referring to the new big bad with a familiar face.
We also get a look at the recently announced new cast members of Season Six. Karolina Wydra (Quantico, True Blood) is playing an intergalactic mercenary named Izel who seems to know of the Coulson look-alike. “I know what he really is, and he won’t stop until he eliminates the whole planet,” she tells Elena (Natalia Cordova-Buckley) in the new trailer.
Based on the trailer this looks to be quite the season for fans of Agents of SHIELD! You can check the trailer out down below, and check out the season premiere on April 10th at 8/7c on ABC.

  1. That trailer—well done. In the words of Pitch Meeting Producer Guy when Marvel gets especially good: Wow wow wow wow wow.
The premiere must be May 10, not April, right? Which is…tomorrow? Wow wow wow wow wow.
