It’s no exaggeration to say that today was a major day for Absolute Batman. Not only did Warner Bros. Games reveal that Absolute Batman and Absolute Catwoman would be available in the upcoming LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight video game, but today saw the release of Absolute Batman #19. For those who haven’t picked it up yet, I’ll refrain from spoilers but it’s no exaggeration to say it’s a game changer. The issue also showcased the first appearance of Absolute Robin which in a twist is actually a program composed of Dick Grayson, Jason Todd, Tim Drake, Stephanie Brown, and Duke Thomas piloting mech suits.
In a further twist to traditional Batman lore, the wayward youths are in fact the wards of Jack Grimm, better known as the Absolute Universe Joker. Following the events of the latest issue of Absolute Batman, these recruits for the Robin Program have been deployed by Slade Wilson to capture the Gotham vigilante.
After revealing the main cover for Absolute Batman #20 last week, DC has unveiled OTO variant covers for Absolute Batman #20 along with artist Nick Dragotta’s character designs for the Absolute Universe Robins.
The breakdown for the variant covers for each character is as follows
-
