The reason I chose Heavenly Eats this week is because I love food. As soon as I read the description of the series, I knew it was for me. My day revolves around my meals and I am never without snacks.

The comedy webcomic written by Myoung rang and drawn by Allbba centers on Dalsu, the son of God who has been kicked out of the afterworld and sent to Earth on a mission to find out what makes humans truly happy. Alongside his friend Lisa, an angel and chef, the supernatural pair start a food delivery service that serves food to hangry humans 24 hours a day. In fact, they know what you want before you do. The better Dalsu satisfies his customers, the higher the happiness meter on his motorcycle will be, and when it reaches 100%, he can return to the afterworld.

The first episode is literally about a girl who wakes up hungry and struggles with whether or not she should order food at an ungodly hour. Every panel is her toying with the idea of late night delivery and whether it is good for her waistline. When she finally decides her growling gut needs attention, all the delivery places are closed. That’s where Dalsu’s new restaurant saves the day.

We’ve all been there. It’s midnight and you are suddenly craving fried rice or a burrito. Don’t lie. It’s okay. It’s also okay when you don’t really know what you want, but you know you need something. It would be great to have a 24-hour service that read your hunger subconscious and delivered it within seconds.

Heavenly Eats updates every Friday. Head to Webtoons to start reading the new series.
