Ashley Franklin’s Dead Girl’s’ Club, running every tues day on Study Group Comics, is frankly, more hilarious than spooky, but it’s really funny. The set-up is three girls decide to commit suicide together, then find their spirits are trapped in one tiny apartment. It sounds lugubrious but those elements are quickly dealt with…or mined for comedy.

What makes it even funnier is that the ghosts, Tabitha, Janice and B, are big manga and pop culture fans, so when the guys assigned to clean out the apartment start rumaging through their yaoi collection, the girls get incensed. And then they find out just what ghost can and cannot do in the real world.

And comedy ensues. What I like best about the first three chapters is the world building of the ghostly powers that the girls sill have.
