Vault Comics has revealed One Zero Zero One Saves The World, a post-apocalyptic sci-fi series written by Jeremy Robinson (Excommunicated, Nectar), featuring art and lettering by Tiago Palma (X-Men United), and coloring by Manuel Rodriguez. Debuting this November, the book follows a genetic experiment called 1001, as he awakes and escapes captivity centuries after he was abandoned by his creator.

The official synopsis says, “1001 awakens confused and alone, a genetic experiment that quickly adapts to any threat or environment. He wakes up hundreds of years into Earth’s post-apocalyptic future — only to discover he is being hunted by a pack of vicious creatures. Can his adaptations keep pace with their fury?”

Robinson says, “I first created 1001 when I was in college… more than thirty years ago. I worked on the story non-stop back then and created an eight-page comic for the character, named ‘Ralph’ at the time, that was published in a comic book anthology. When I shifted gears to writing screenplays and later novels, Ralph became less of a priority, but always stayed on my mind. When I decided to launch a comic book production house [Breakneck Comics], Ralph — now 1001 — was a top priority and I’m thrilled with how the book came out.”

He adds Palma, whom he previously worked with on Excommunicated, “is the perfect artist to bring 1001 to life. He perfectly captures 1001’s confused innocence, gamut of emotions, and strange, deadly, and sometimes hysterical transformations. Manuel Rodriguez’s colors are vivid, making each page pop, as usual. Now, after all this time, the creature conjured by my 18-year-old self has come to life. Feels good!” Issue #1 will be available with covers by Palma, Brett Parson, Edison Neo, Adam Cahoon, Michael Dialynas, Nathan Gooden, Derek Laufman, and Robinson himself.

In further Vault news today, the publisher announced Inanna: The Name She Lost will receive a single-issue release from November. The graphic novel, by Inanna Sarkis, Tim Seeley, and Ademir Leal, starring the Mesopotamian goddess of love and war, will receive covers by Tula Lotay, Annie Wu, Serena Bell, Meredith McClaren, Adriana Melo, and Seth Adams. The graphic novel version, originally intended for September, will now be released in June 2027.

In the meantime, Excommunicated will end with issue #4 this week, and be released in trade paperback on September 22. Until then, you can check out a preview of One Zero Zero One Saves The World #1 below:
