Elsewhere on the internet, it seems as though the sky is falling.
For those who keep a very close eye on the comic industry, you’ll know that now is the time you’d normally start seeing the official comic solicitations for books coming out in April 2017. The cycle usually kicks off two weeks before Diamond releases their Previews catalogue. This generally takes place on the final Wednesday of the month. A week before this date, all of the solicitation information is dumped onto Diamond’s retailer website – which is why you typically see companies slowly release all the info they have to comic news sites by the second last Wednesday of the month at the latest. But this month? Not so much. What’s the deal? Where is the info? Is it really true, and the comic industry is coming to an end in March? IS THIS THE TIME TO PANIC? WHERE IS THE GASOLINE. WHY DON’T I HAVE ANY MATCHES?
Well, the answer is simple: Diamond isn’t releasing the next issue of Previews until February 1st. So everything’s been delayed a week. The same thing will happen with next month’s info dump, as the following Previews won’t hit stands until March 1st. Nothing is on fire, kids, and there is literally nothing to see here.
