Here’s John Cusack in his best known role as Lloyd Dobler in the beloved Gen-X comedy Say Anything.

You may have been thinking about John Cusack a lot lately because he’s a top guest at next weekend’s C2E2 show in Chicago. And every time you clicked on anything here at the Beat, it took you to an ad for C2E2.

Despite what some people on twitter suggested, this was not a deliberate strategy on The Beat’s part. WE WANT you to read our stories by our outstanding roster of industry reporters and columnists. We do apologize for the inconvenience and frustration some of you expressed. Our audience is truly the most valuable thing about the Beat and we value your participation and attention immensely.

Anyway for various boring technical reasons this was happening, but we’ve fixed those problems. The Beat has just moved over to the Hiveworks platform, and if you’re in the mood for a webcomic just go to the top right of the sidebar and click on a randomized wheel of fortune. Discovering new things is fun!

We’ll be rolling out other tweaks and improvements that don’t involve John Cusack  over the next few weeks. If you have any suggestions, please leave them in the comments.

PS: Caught in the jaws of the great demographic pinchers of the Boomers and Millenniels, will anyone even remember Gen X in 10 years?  Enjoy your beloved comedies while you can!
