These next two weeks will be some of Telltale’s biggest in recent memory. Not only will the developer end its first Batman game series, they’ll also be giving fans the start of a new saga in their comic orbiting Walking Dead series. Fan favorite Clementine will return but a new character will also begin his journey, Javier.
The series will introduce a new threat in the Walking Dead universe in the form of a group calling themselves The New Frontier. Cannibals, hunters, criminals in prison; we’ve seen so many different dangers in that world and with Telltale taking a bit of a break to craft out stories in other properties, their return to Walking Dead could definitely be worth the wait. Nothing is ever cookie-cutter in Robert Kirkman’s universe. So it’ll definitely be exciting to see how this new threat differentiates itself from what we’ve seen in the comics, games, and TV show. As you saw from the trailer, Jesus from the comics will be making an appearance in this story.
Walking Dead: A New Frontier will debut on December 20 on PC from the Telltale Online Store, Steam, and other digital distribution services, on the Xbox Games Store for Xbox One, and on the PlayStation Network for PlayStation 4. The episode will be available the same day for compatible iOS devices via the App Store, and for compatible Android-based devices via Google Play. Oh, and did we mention it’s double sized?
