Secret-Asian-Man
What editor Ted Rall calls “the first Asian-themed strip” for newspapers, will launch in July:

United Media will be launching a new feature on July 16 called Secret Asian Man by Tak Toyoshima. The feature centers around Osamu “SAM” Takahashi, a struggling comic strip artist, who is a second generation Japanese American growing up in a big city. He has a wife and son.

  1. Secret Asian Man has been running in Boston’s Weekly Dig for years (Tak is the paper’s Art Director). The strip is hilarious, although I’m sure it will receive Boondocks-like criticism over race-baiting and unfair stereotyping-the Dig occasionally runs letters critiquing the strip, and they are ridiculous.

  2. Go Tak go. SAM is all kinds of awesome and I couldn’t be happier for Tak. He’s been busting his ass for a long, long time and it’s nice to see it pay off a little bit.
