As Hunter S. Thompson might tell you, at some point, every good hero needs to go on a trip. Take a little R&R. Soak in the sun. That kind of thing.

However, unlike Raoul Duke, Kate Kane never asked to get doused by drugs and be left in the desert to die. On her quest to take down the global crime conglomerate known as the Many Arms of Death, Batwoman finds herself stranded in among the sands after an unknown assailant takes her out of the sky. To make matters worse, she’s been hit by Scarecrow’s fear toxin and has to work with her mortal enemy, Colony Prime, to escape a grisly fate.

“FEAR AND LOATHING” part one! When her father, Colonel Jacob Kane, realized that Kate would never become the soldier he wanted, he chose someone else to lead his secret paramilitary group, the Colony. That man—Colony Prime—hates nobody on Earth the way he hates Kate…and the feeling is mutual! So when the two of them are stranded in the Sahara Desert, heavily dosed with Scarecrow’s fear toxin, with no way to survive except to rely on each other…they might just choose death instead!

  1. Well, I hope this arc enlivens the series a little. Thus far, it’s been a real snore. Kate is written so much better over in “Detective”.

That is some pretty art, though.
