DC Comics’ cinematic universe has proven to have a messy track record so far.  Both Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice and Sucide Squad faced exceptionally poor critical reception, leaving audiences and fans wondering how Warner Bros and DC might be able to pull themselves out of what looked like a death spiral.  Well, Wonder Woman could be the solution to their troubles.

Today, a new trailer for the film was released.  The movie comes out on June 2nd, 2017.  It is directed by Patty Jenkins and stars Gal Gadot, Chris Pine, Connie Nielsen, and Robin Wright.

Alongside the trailer came a number of new posters.

  1. First I was happy to see some bullets and bracelets action in that alleyway, but then I realized it took Christopher Reeve’s “mugging” scene and made it even better! (Although that scene does have a lot charm!)

Oh… and another thing… In the DC cinematic universe, Wonder Woman officially predates Superman, becoming the first superhero to appear.

  2. With each trailer looking better & better I get a little more stoked..but DC has gotten so much wrong before..I just keep thinking: please don’t suck, because if it does, we will never get another female-led superhero movie.

  3. Biases: Loved “Man of Steel” and “Dawn of Justice.” Hated “Suicide Squad.” Think most Marvel movies are bland and forgettable and lacking in style.

That said, I really liked this. Unlike “Suicide Squad,” this seemed to maintain a visual and stylistic continuity with the two Snyder films. Action looks good, story intrigues me. A little too much slo-mo for my tastes, though, but that’s just a minor quibble. Gal Gadot has real screen presence and charisma. Good chemistry with Chris Pine.

    Looking forward to it.
