200701300310The Writers Guild of America will present Jules Feiffer with its lifetime achievement award for Animation Writing Variety reports.

Feiffer will be feted at the Writers Guild Awards on Feb. 11 at the Century Plaza in Los Angeles and simultaneously at the Millennium Broadway Hotel in New York.

Feiffer’s film credits include “Little Murders” and “Carnal Knowledge,” for which he received WGA nominations, along with “Popeye.” In 2004, Feiffer received the Ian McLellan Hunter Memorial Award for lifetime achievement in writing from the WGA East.

Feiffer is best known as an editorial cartoonist, as well as a playwright, novelist, screenwriter and author of children’s books. His cartoon strip “Feiffer” appeared in the Village Voice from 1956-97.
