Vault Comics has announced that its spooky new title The Autumnal #1 is heading back to the printer for a second run. The first printing has gotten so much attention that it sold out at the distributor level two weeks before the anticipated on-sale date. This time around, fans can look for a cover by artist Martin Simmonds (The Department of Truth, Friendo). The second print will hit store shelves on October 28, the same date as issue #2’s debut.
Simmonds’ cover will be available in two ways. The first version will be a standard comic cover retailing at $3.99. The second version will be a special foil cover on deluxe heavy-weight card stock with a $9.99 price tag.
“The Autumnal is amazing,” said the cover artist. “If you’re a fan of horror, you won’t want to miss out on this.”
The Autumnal is co-created by writer Daniel Kraus (The Shape of Water, Trollhunters, The Living Dead), and artist Chris Shehan. The series features colors by Jason Wordie, letters by Jim Campbell, and designs by Tim Daniel. The series will be part of the publisher’s Nightfall imprint for Fall 2020. The sold-out first printing of issue #1 goes on sale on September 23. Readers can also look for other variant covers by Daniel and Nathan Gooden.
