As more and more creators and exhibitors pull out of Emerald City Comic Con 2020 because of Seattle’s growing coronavirus issue, Vault Comics has decided to follow suit. The publisher announced they’re pulling out of ECCC early this morning.

To make up for their absence, Vault is currently working on a special virtual event that will include creators, limited-edition merchandise, and special sales. The virtual show will give fans a chance to talk directly to the Vault team.

“I’m sad to say that Vault won’t be exhibiting at Emerald City Comic Convention this year,” said Vault Publisher, Damian Wassel in a statement. “It’s our favorite convention and we’ll miss it dearly. We look forward to returning to Seattle in 2021. In lieu of exhibiting at the convention, we’re organizing a virtual event to support our creative teams and engage our readers everywhere. We’ll share more about that soon.”

Despite so many comic professionals canceling their appearances, ECCC is still scheduled to happen March 12-15 at the Washington State Convention Center. Many exhibitors and creators have already planned a virtual replacement for the show and online shopping events, specifically on Twitter.

More information on this special virtual event will be announced in the next few days. Keep checking back for updates.
