With the 50th Anniversary of Vampirella coming up this July, Dynamite is set to release a line of special merchandise for fans of the Daughter of Draculon.
“2019 is the BIG year for Vampirella and we knew that fans deserved a wide range of options to celebrate and look back on her iconic history,” said Nick Barrucci, Dynamite CEO and Publisher. “With the new series launching the first day of San Diego Comic Con AND exactly 50 years after the very first appearance, the stars could not have aligned better!”
The first item up for grabs is the José González Vampirella door poster. At 6 feet tall and 2 feet wide, the print was a familiar item found in many bedrooms during the ‘70s and ‘80s. Fans of all ages can now own their own full-size Vampi.
“I was thirteen and became very, very interested in the character, especially that life-sized poster I saved my paper route money to buy,” said writer and artist Phil Hester (Wonder Woman, Green Arrow).
The next premium piece in the Dynamite Giclée Program is a beautiful Vampirella painting by the legendary Joe Jusko, a celebrated artist by fans for his classic, fully-painted Blood Lust (1997) prestige miniseries with James Robinson as well as countless captivating covers and other projects. Originally used for a rare, out-of-print box set, Vampi is set alongside her greatest friends and foes such as frenemy Pantha, her manipulative mother Lilith, Dracula and the Blood Red Queen of Hearts, and allies Adam Van Helsing and Pendragon. The giclée measures 34 3/4″ by 17 1/2” and is the highest possible quality reproduction for illustration. The framed canvas print has no perceptible dot pattern, displays richly-saturated color, and shows every nuance of the artist’s original. Only a limited number will be available.
“I’ve been a huge fan of Vampirella and her storied history since the very early Warren era through to the current day,” said Jusko. “When the opportunity presented itself to capture that history in one massive image, it was a dream come true for me. She has been and remains one of my favorite characters on which to work.”
The next item available is the definitive Vampirella 50th Anniversary Ultra-Premium Trading Cards set representing all five decades of the world-renowned character. The set features 18 base cards, 12 autographed cards, 12 line art cards, 9-card puzzle card sets, 2 box-topper special cards, and thousands of original one-of-a-kind hand drawn sketch cards. Fans can choose individual foil packs or four color deluxe boxes including 12 packs.
