Valiant is continuing their Divinity saga in October with Eternity #1 and they’re name checking some pretty big influences for this one: Jack Kirby and Moebius. (And looking at the preview, I might add a Phillipe Druillet/Lone Sloane influence to the landscape, but that’s just me.)

As writer Matt Kindt puts it:

“ETERNITY has a lot of heart – it’s really about the story of this couple’s relationship and how they deal with loss – which is a story that Kirby never really got a chance to tell,” Matt Kindt told Paste. “And by using some of the same tool sets, we’re going to get something pretty unique and heartbreaking – but also pretty fun.”

This would be the 4th series in the sequence, following DivinityDivinity II and Divinity III: Stalinverse.  The official description:

On October 25th, jump into the year’s most astonishing journey as Abram Adams, the lost cosmonaut known as Divinity, travels outside the bounds of the Valiant Universe as we know it to explore the most distant frontier of imagination…to the incomprehensible kingdoms of the realm only known as Eternity…

  1. I’m not seeing ANY Kirby in this, but plenty of the French creators Moebius and Druillet. Which is great, but except for being perhaps influenced by Kirby’s fascination with supreme god-like beings, ain’t no Kirby happening. Especially with Alex Ross’s glistening multi-bodied realism renderings…
