Okay, I’m a bit late posting this Top Comics to Buy for July 26, but forgive me, I was at San Diego Comic-Con and my brain is mushy and exhausted. On my flights to and from, however, I did manage to read some comics, many comics, in fact, and I’ve picked five that I was into as recommendations below, along with the usual set of lists. Enjoy!
Top Comics to Buy for July 26, 2023
Neighbors #5

Why It’s Cool: I’ve written about liking this family-focused horror take throughout its run, and now I’m happy to report this book sticks its ending. I’ll be thinking about this series for some time.

Why It’s Cool: This one is an engaging mystery from its start, building to a wild cliffhanger of an ending that I don’t even want to hint about here. I couldn’t put this one down after I started it, and I highly recommend giving it a shot. Chances are good it might grab you, too.

Why It’s Cool: Featuring one of the freshest concepts for a horror story I’ve seen in some time, Seasons of Teeth wraps up this week, and the finale was an easy choice for this list of Top Comics to Buy for July 26. The whole book was fantastic — get it in trade if you for some reason missed the singles.

Why It’s Cool: Traveling to Mars remains one of my favorite books written by Mark Russell, which is really saying something. It’s just been such a forlorn and personal near-future sci-fi comic that also serves as a satire. I’m going to keep recommending it until it’s through.

Why It’s Cool: Whether or not you’ve been paying close attention to recent Marvel continuity, this comic functions as a fun and complex sci-fi story with tinges of body horror throughout. I’ve enjoyed the first two issues quite a bit.
