San Francisco, CA, 7 PM – Art Spiegelman at Books Inc. in Opera Plaza
Legendary cartoonist Art Speigelman takes his national tour to Northern California to promote two new books: the retrospective anthology BREAKDOWNS, which collects his seminal ’70s work, and the brand new JACK AND THE BOX, aimed at young readers. He will discuss his work, take questions and sign books.
Tuesday, October 14
Savannah, GA, 8 PM – Dave Kellett and Scott Kurtz Talk Webcomics at SCAD
Dave Kellett (SHELDON) and Scott Kurtz (PvP), authors of HOW TO MAKE WEBCOMICS, will present a lecture on the art and business of webcomics at Savannah College of Art and Design‘s Trustees Theatre. The event is free and open to the public.
Tuesday, October 14
New York City, NY, 8 PM – Comic Book Club at The Peoples’ Improv Theater
Justin Tyler, Pete LePage, and Alex Zalben host this week’s installment of The PIT’s weekly live talk show featuring New York comedians talking shop with industry professionals from all corners of the comic book world. Admission is $5. Sponsored in part by Midtown Comics.

Los Angeles, CA, 7 – 9 PM – John Pham & Ron Regé Jr. Book Release Party
Alt comics and books shop Family hosts a joint release party for John Pham’s SUBLIFE Vol. 1 and Ron Regé Jr.’sAGAINST PAIN. The two will sign their new books and Regé will preform music under the name Discombobulated Ventriloquist.
Wednesday, October 15
New York City, NY, 7 PM – Jonathan Ames and Dean Haspiel talk THE ALCOHOLIC
Writer Jonathan Ames and artist Dean Haspiel will discuss their new Vertigo graphic novel THE ALCOHOLIC at Barnes and Noble Tribeca at 97 Warren St (at Greenwich St).
