Eight years after The Librarians signed off, TNT is bringing the franchise back with a new spinoff, giving Little Free Librarians across the United States reason to celebrate. TNT has teamed with the nonprofit Little Free Library to distribute books and free promotional items to more than 200 library stewards nationwide. Library stewards can enter online for an opportunity to win a promo pack, which includes:
- A window vinyl display of the new series
- Charm bookmarks of one of the artifacts in the series
- A trilogy of The Librarians tie-in novels to add to the libraries
TNT will premiere The Librarians: The Next Chapter as a two-night special event following the NBA playoffs on May 25. The series stars Callum McGowan (Vikram Chamberlain), Jessica Green (Charlie Cornwall), Olivia Morris (Lysa Pascal), Bluey Robinson (Connor Green), and Caroline Loncq (Elaine Astalot). Christian Kane will reprise the role of Jacob Stone.
The Librarians promo will run for three months after the series premiere. Additionally, the nonprofit plans to install ten new, custom-designed Little Free Libraries in cities across the country.
Little Free Library® (LFL) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that expands literacy and access to underserved and Indigenous communities through a global network of volunteer-led book-sharing boxes. According to the LFL website, there are currently over 200,000 registered Little Free Libraries in all 50 states and in 128 countries. The program won the 2020 World Literacy Award and has received recognition from both the Library of Congress and the National Book Foundation.
