The Hero Initiative remains an essential part of the comics industry. They offer support to comic creators who have suffered injuries, sickness, or other problems in their lives. And they do so in some of the best and brightest and most charming ways imaginable – which leads us to The Uncanny X-Men Project.
The Hero Initiative have commissioned 100 artists to draw on a blank cover of Uncanny X-Men, and will be auctioning off the pieces in order to raise money for their cause. Creators like Alan Davis, John McCrea, Valerio Schiti and Daniel Acuna are among the initial participants in the project. Alongside the imminent auction will also be a collected trade paperback and hardcover, so you can buy the entire set in one go.
Alan Davis’ art is above. Here’s a look at covers by David Mack and John McCrea:
Undoubtedly these will be out of my price range (and hopefully, considering the auction’s for a very good cause), but I might just need to get me that collection!
Cool, but couldn’t we just get some of these guys on interiors?
I thought that Magik cover would get your attention, Niels!
