Looking for a doll of one of the scariest kids in horror history to round out your plush collection? Mezco Toys has you covered as The Exorcist’s Regan MacNeil joins its MDS Roto Plush line with an eye to get people to invest in something that looks like it can convince children to join Satan’s army.

Mezco’s Regan is 18” tall and features sculpted parts to capture the character’s likeness. It’ll come packaged in a die-cut window box, where you’ll be able to appreciate the yellow eyes, the cracked skin, and the signature grin that signaled something from Hell had taken residence in the 12-year-old girl. As an aside, the demon that possessed Regan, Pazuzu, wasn’t from the Christian Hell but rather from Assyrian and Babylonian mythology, and it wasn’t 100% evil. It often appeared in amulets and necklaces that were used to ward off other demons. But that’s a conversation for another time.

Regan will come dressed in her iconic blue nightgown, the one she had on during Father Karras’ first meeting with her and all throughout her exorcism. It’s the gown she floats in as the exorcists command her to heed the power of Christ. It’s also the one she stains with green vomit whenever she gets the chance.

The doll is slated for release this December, and it’ll retail at $97.99. It’s a hefty price, but collectors should be confident in the quality of the product here. Mezco has been churning out great toys over the years that do right by the properties they belong to. In fact, they had already released a Designer Series super-D take on Regan along with a Mega Scale figure with sound (it says six phrases from the movie).

And yet, The Exorcist hasn’t been exploited as much as other licenses in the collectibles arena, which makes the announcement of new toys based on it rather special. There are way more Freddy Kruegers and Jason Vorhees out in the wild than Regan MacNeils. Not even Father Karras or Lankester Merrin get to share in the spotlight with their horror brethren as figures. The Exorcist tends to favor a more measured presence in the toy world.

If you end up buying the Regan plush doll, just make sure to keep a vial of holy water handy. It does look like something lurks within it. Also, consider that gifting it to a small child might make them fear toys altogether, forever. That said, this makes for an excellent centerpiece in any horror fan’s collection.
