Well, now that the new poster has been explained and the original corny 1967 poster can be compared, I get it. But I still needed it explained to me, and I am Canadian and had family at Expo 67.
Expo 67 was (hmm lemme see) 45 years ago. Why are we interested now? And what young fan will understand the hostess’ eye mask, the lollipop and the homage to 1967?
Sigh. Does it really need to be explained? The message is very simple – meet-up in Montreal for the 2012 Joe Shuster Awards for Canadian Comic Book Creators (we used Destination: Montreal for the English version). A bit of fun for promoting on the website and the program book at the ceremony, really. Plus, Tyrone is old…. lol….
We went with a much more generic image of Joe with a Superman drawing for the poster we will be hanging up in various locations at the Place de Congres/Montreal Convention Centre this weekend.
