Linda Hamilton‘s Sarah Connor is back for Terminator: Dark Fate, as is Linda’s former hubbie, producer James Cameron, and that alone should be reason to celebrate Paramount’s upcoming sequel, right?

So far, Hamilton has only been teased in the footage and trailers we’ve seen, as has former Terminator star Arnold Schwarzenegger, but Paramount’s latest trailer and poster (click on the image at left for a much larger version) makes it very clear: this is the REAL “Terminator” sequel we’ve been waiting for.

Listen, we’ve all been fooled before by Terminator marketing that made us think we would get a movie as good as those trailers, and the last two movies certainly did not live up to their marketing.

But this time, original filmmaker James Cameron is more involved, and Deadpool director Tim Miller is at the helm, and they probably both realize as much as anyone else how badly long-time “Terminator” fans have been burned in the past.

Besides showing Mackenzie Davis‘ kick-ass Grace — an enhanced human/cyborg mix — and Gabriel Luna‘s new Terminator plus Natalia Reyes‘ as the token human caught in the fight, the new trailer also shows how Linda Hamilton’s Sarah Connor fits into the story while not giving away even the slightest hint why Arnold looks so old, despite being a cyborg… or is he? (We do get to see Arnold in action even if someone else gets to say his famous catchphrase.)

Yes, there are still lots of questions, and most of them we’ll probably have to wait until Terminator: Dark Fate hits theaters on Nov. 1, but you can watch the new trailer below and let us know what you think:

  1. Stop hating on T3 and Salvation. They were good and we should have continued John and Kate. Genisys is the only bad one.
