Infographic: the evolution of digital comics in the US
This infographic is also an ad for WEBTOONS, a portal short serialized digital comics that are native on mobile platforms. The site is run by NAVER, the Google of South Korea. Despite the proprietary nature there is still some interesting info on the graph including projected worldwide size of the digital comics market...no idea where that came from, but webtoons are an established entertainment format in South Korea, seemingly more than in the US.
INTERVIEW: David Gallaher, King of Digital
Over the last ten or so years, one thing has been guaranteed: where there are new ways of developing and progressing digital comics, there you will find David Gallaher. Writer for a variety of comics including High Moon, Box 13, Darkstar & The Winter Guard and Deadlands, Gallaher has been at the forefront of digital comics for years. Amongst others he was involved with the DC digital project Zuda, had the first original content published by ComiXology, and has recently successfully brought his new graphic novel Only Living Boy to Kickstarter.

Comics and the iPad were made for each other. The screen, although slightly smaller than a comic page, works nicely to display comics. Panels look great on it's glossy screen, even with the backlight turned down. Even the iPad with the smallest capacity can hold 20 longboxes worth of comics, no problem, and that's just what I can carry with me. Comics folks are classically unwilling to accept change (why do you think no one ever dies in comics?) but it's time. Comics are going digital and we should embrace that, so here's a quick look at some of the best digital comics readers for the iPad.
