Another one bites the dust. Lately, it seems that actor after actor (after actor after actor) has been deciding on personal profit over people. First it was John Lithgow, then it was Nick Frost and Paapa Essiedu (dear Essiedu, you don’t get to say you’re “pro-trans” if you sign up for JKR movie). And recently, Hugh Laurie and Riz Ahmed also announced they will be joining Audible’s Harry Potter cast, via Variety. And these are only actors who have disappointed my own community, the trans community. Other’s on the MAGA train include Sylvester Stallone, David Mamet, Mike Tyson, Mel Gibson, Kelsey Grammer, and of course, Caitlyn Jenner, who seems prepared to sell-out her own community for a slice of MAGA pie.
The Guardian reported yesterday that Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman actor Dean Cain, who is no stranger to being the center of controversry due to his conservative views, has announced that he would be joining US Immigration and Customs Enforcement, or ICE (or Gestapo), to support Donald Trump‘s anti-immigration agenda. In recent months, ICE has aggressively ramped up its immigration raids, with a goal of 3,000 minimum arrests a day, and was recently awarded a $75 billion budget as part of the president’s Big Beautiful Bill, including billions dedicated to hiring an additional 10,000 agents by 2029.
Speaking on Fox News on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, Cain told host Jesse Watters that he decided to join the federal agency after sharing one of their recruitment videos on his Instagram account on Tuesday, August 5. “I’m actually a sworn deputy sheriff and a reserve police officer – I wasn’t part of ICE, but once I put that out there and you put a little blurb on your show, it went crazy,” Cain told Watters. “So now I’ve spoken with some officials over at Ice, and I will be sworn in as an ICE agent, ASAP.”
“This country was built on patriots stepping up, whether it was popular or not, and doing the right thing. I truly believe this is the right thing,” Cain said about his inspiration to join. “We have a broken immigration system. Congress needs to fix it, but in the interim, President Trump ran on this. He is delivering on this. This is what people voted for. It’s what I voted for and he’s going to see it through, and I’ll do my part and help make sure it happens.”
Cain added that he hoped others would join. “I’m stepping up,” he said. “Hopefully, a whole bunch of other former officers, former ICE agents, will step up and we’ll meet those recruitment goals immediately, and we’ll help protect this country.”
Not only has ICE been detaining undocumented people, who are still currently protected under US law, it has even been pulling American citizens off the streets because of their skin color. The agency’s actions have sparked protests across the country, with Trump responding in an a way that’s completely antithetical to American values and our exisiting legal system: by jailing and prosecuting protesters for exercising their freedom of speech. Truth, justice, and the American way… yeah right.
Something Sean Gunn and James Gunn got right on their Superman movie promotional tour is that Clark Kent’s story has always been an immigrant story, created by two Jewish immigrants who lost their homes due to policies very similar to the ones being executed in America today. Gunn explained, “Superman is the story of America, sn immigrant that came from other places and populated the country, but for me it is mostly a story that says basic human kindness is a value and is something we have lost.”
Recently, Cain, who is a frequent commentator on “liberal bias” in media, made headlines for calling the new film “woke.” He told TMZ, “How woke is Hollywood going to make this character? How much is Disney going to change their Snow White? Why are they going to change these characters [to] exist for the times? We know Superman is an immigrant – he’s a freaking alien … The ‘American way’ is immigrant friendly, tremendously immigrant friendly. But there are rules … There have to be limits, because we can’t have everybody in the United States. We can’t have everybody, society will fail. So there have to be limits.”
I’ll say this about Cain, he certainly seems committed to being on the wrong side of history. You dont’t wnat to be Red Son, Superman.

He isn’t on the wrong side. Upholding our laws is the right side. Either immigrate legally or stay home.
Yes, and people should just get jobs, work harder than the rich, buy homes, and lie about not using antidepressants or being LGBT – any other conservative fallacies you want me to destroy too, or are you ready to actually live in the real world, not some early 20th century fantasy where all cops and priests are good people, and burning books means trans people don’t exist?
Also, what happens if someone needs an abortion but it’s illegal in their state, and they can’t travel to one where it’s legal? What if abortion was illegal in the whole country even? Should they still obey the law, give birth, maybe even die, instead of having their god-given right to aborting an unwanted fetus?
Upholding the law is right. But what Trump is doing isn’t law enforcement; it’s terror. It’s a demonstration of power and abuse, intended to show the citizens that a strong and powerful man is in charge, and can do anything to anyone who disagrees. And Trump killed the last attempt at bipartisan immigration reform because it would have diminished his election chances. Showing masked men taking people away to concentration camps and foreign prisons is terrorism. And Dean has decided to be part of it. He is wrong, and deserves scorn
The eagerness with which some “Americans” lick book and beg for heel disgusts me.
