In an announcement posted to The Center for Cartoon Studies website, details about submission for consideration for the 2022 Cartoonist Studio Prize were revealed.
As with the 2021 Cartoonist Studio Prize, The Beat is proud to be the media partner for this year’s awards, which will once again include two categories: one for Print Comic of the Year, and one for Webcomic of the Year. Each winner will receive a $1000 prize.
2022 Cartoonist Studio Prize
This will be the tenth annual Cartoonist Studio Prize.
Submissions in both categories are now open. You can find the submission form for print comics here, and the submission form for webcomics here.
Eligible comics will have been written in (or translated into) English and published or posted online between January 1st, 2021 and December 31st, 2021. Those who are currently enrolled at CCS or are faculty are not eligible for consideration. Cartoonists may submit one entry in each of the two categories. Furthermore, the panel of judges reserves the right to consider work that was not submitted officially.
Publisher or creators may also submit a work for consideration by mailing a physical copy of the book to CCS, along with a submission form (the mailing address can be found at the link above).
Winners will be selected by a judging panel comprised of the Schulz Library staff at the CCS and The Beat. Finalists for the prize will be announced in April 2022, with the winners being announced soon after.
The tenth annual Cartoonist Studio Prize is sponsored by Wacom.
