Pokémon Company International’s official publishing imprint, Pikachu Press, has announced the release of a limited edition box set for The Pokémon Deluxe Character Guide. The book, which was created in conjunction with Dark Horse Press, covers #0001 through #1025 in the National Pokédex. In addition to the limited edition box set, Pikachu Press will also be publishing The Pokémon Deluxe Character Guide as a standalone book.

The Pokémon Deluxe Character Guide

According to Simon and Schuster’s website, The Pokémon Deluxe Character Guide was written by Alex Irvine. The press release states that this is the first book from Pokémon Company International that incorporates elements from across the Pokémon franchise, including from the video games, Pokémon animation and the Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG).

The book boasts a foreword by The Pokémon Company President and CEO Tsunekazu Ishihara and runs to over 335 glossy pages. Included in the text are details on the Pokémon, their evolutions and more, and the book culminates in a “bonus chapter” focused on mythical and legendary Pokémon.

Even the standard edition of The Pokémon Deluxe Character Guide is impressive: it’s a beautiful hardcover with gilded pages, a ribbon bookmark and adorable Pikachu-themed endpages. The book will retail alone for $59.99.
