In response to the overwhelmingly positive reception of the Dearborn’s first creators only convention back in October 2005, organizers have set the date of Saturday November 4th for SNAP! The Comic Arts Festival 2006. “Last year we set out to prove that a small press comic event could be successful in the Detroit area.â€? says event coordinator Dan Merritt, “And creators and attendees alike gave us so many favorable reviews that we knew SNAP! had to be repeated.â€?

The second annual “SNAP! The Comic Arts Festivalâ€? will be held at Al Matta Hall 5121 Oakman in Dearborn, Michigan. The one day event starts at 10am and runs until 6pm, with an intermission from 2-3pm featuring live music from local musicians. The Al Matta grill will be cooking up some great food, and the panels and workshops will be held within arms reach of the Al Matta bar. Comics, creators, music, food and beer! Was success ever in doubt?

The SNAP! Launch Party will be held Friday November 3rd at Green Brain Comics 13210 Michigan Ave. in Dearborn, just 3 blocks from Al Matta Hall. Refreshments and entertainment will be provided by your hosts at Green Brain and their new upstairs neighbors Stormy Records. Exhibition space is reserved for comic creators and publishers only!

  1. I am extremely bummed out that I can’t make it to this years SNAP! The kick-off show last year was a blast and anyone in the Michigan/Ohio/Indian area would do themselves a huge disservice to skip out.

  2. Thanks for the space Heidi, I just wish that one day SNAP! is big enough to have the PW Comics Tag Team of “The Hellcat” Heidi Mac and “Colosal” Calvin Reid covering the floor.
*sigh* Making up wrestler names make me smile.
A brief respite from last minute printing jobs.
    Thanks again Heidi.
