But learning to work together hasn’t always been easy for them. Saddle up as Sky and Ty figure out they both can help solve a little bear problem. And teamwork and some speedy thinking save the day when they tackle getting theIr first package to its destination just in time.

The first book in this funny and warm young chapter book graphic novel series by two-time Pulitzer Prize Winner Steve Breen features two stories rendered in vibrant three-color art, interspersed with fun facts, jokes, and activities.

Breen said in a statement:

Sky and Ty was actually born out of the Pandemic. In 2020, my kids had a lot of extra time for drawing and coloring and my six-year-old son created a picture of an orange cowboy standing on top of an orange dinosaur. I immediately loved it and told him I wanted to make some kind of childrens’ book with these characters. (He gave me permission!) It seemed that a lot of fun stories could be told with two dissimilar buddies navigating the world together. I changed the orange cowboy to a blue cowgirl and, viola! I had Sky and Ty.  Later that year, my family and I wanted to get away during the lockdown so we drove to Arizona. I was so inspired by the trees, streams, and rock formations in the northern part of the state that I made an idealized version of Sedona the setting of the book. ”
