It’s been almost two years since the start of Weekend Reading, and we’ve barely even made a dent in our stack of books, even though we’ve just reached Weekend Reading 103! Fortunately, here at Stately Beat Manor, we know there’s only one solution to this “problem”: just keep reading!

As always, we’re hoping to hear what you’re reading, as well. Let The Beat know what you’re planning on paging through this weekend, either right here in the comment section or over on social media @comicsbeat!

Weekend Reading 103
Weekend Reading 103: The Forest in Folklore and Mythology.

AVERY KAPLAN: This weekend I’m returning to a classic for research purposes: The Complete Calvin & Hobbes by Bill Watterson. Then, as far as prose goes, I’ll be reading through a book I first heard about when The Beat’s own Arpad Okay included it in his entry for Weekend Reading 87: The Forest in Folklore and Mythology by Alexander Porteous.

Weekend Reading 103
Weekend Reading 103: Catwoman: Trail of the Catwoman.

TAIMUR DAR: I’ve still got a case of Batman fever, but this weekend I’m turning my attention to the feline felon and reading some Catwoman comics. Since I dug Darwyn Cooke’s Batman: Ego collection, I’ll be reading the Catwoman: Trail of the Catwoman trade that collects various comic collaborations drawn by Cooke and written by Ed Brubaker.

Weekend Reading 103: Black Jack.

DEAN SIMONS: Currently at the Angoulême International Comic Arts Festival so if I am not perusing my finds, I will likely be reading more of Tezuka’s Black Jack (I think I am at volume 3). If – IF! – the Comixology app works.
