AVERY KAPLAN: Double comics weekend! First I’ll be reading Lady Killer by Joëlle Jones and Jamie S. Rich. Then, while I’ve read Mooncakes by Wendy Xu and Suzanne Walker online, I’ve yet to read it in graphic novel form, so I’ll be paging through that this weekend!
ADAM KARENINA SHERIF: Rather excitingly, I managed to score some new-ish print comics this week, including the final issue of Black Label’s The Question: The Deaths Of Vic Sage by Jeff Lemire and Denys Cowan. The book’s first three issues are a wild ride, deliberately disorientating but with occasionally profound passages. Without revisiting in an overly nostalgic way, it touches on different themes that have been defining for The Question, and I’m interested to see if the conclusion offers a closing statement on what this challenging DC character should be addressing right now – if indeed he should be around at all.
TAIMUR DAR: I’m a fan of the various collaborations from Jeph Loeb and Tim Sale but don’t believe I’ve had a chance to read the Superman for All Seasons limited series. Another classic I’ll be crossing off my bucket list thanks to the DC Universe platform.
