Late Thursday afternoon, Sex Criminals co-creator Chip Zdarsky tweeted an image with no caption: the cover for issue #26, “The End: Part One,” which hits shelves in January 2020. It’s been 16 months since a new issue of Sex Criminals was released and the news was met with great enthusiasm from fans — although it’s bittersweet, since Volume 6 will apparently conclude the weird, wonderful, orgasmic caper of Jon and Suz.

As a longtime Sex Criminals fan (ask me about my favorite comic!), this is huge, supremely welcome news. After Jon and Suz reunited at the end of Volume 5, it seemed like perhaps Zdarsky and Matt Fraction planned to let sleeping dogs lie. Thank God there’s more to come, though, because there’s so much left to this story, and I want to read it all.
But wait! It gets better! The pink-bagged NSFW XXX variant cover for issue #26 is illustrated by Jason Latour, a.k.a. the co-creator of Spider-Gwen and Southern Bastards.

The solicit text on the Image Comics website doesn’t reveal much, but it does confirm that Sex Criminals is back and this arc will be the last. Also: the bank will fall. Probably. Now that our eponymous heroes are reunited, it seems inevitable.
