Buffy The Vampire Slayer #8 marks the official prelude to Hellmouth, the historic Buffy and Angel event brought to you by BOOM! Studios in partnership with 20th Century Fox. Written by Eisner award-nominated Jordie Bellaire (Redlands) and with art by David López (Captain Marvel), the much-anticipated comic event starts with the slayer meeting vampire-with-a-soul Angel for the first time.
While on patrol at her school’s Halloween dance, Buffy finds a masked stranger watching her. Across town, someone close to the Scoobies will make a decision that will have dire consequences for Sunnydale, sparking the event that will change their lives forever in Hellmouth.
“It’s the moment every fan has been waiting for since Angel first appeared in our all-new Buffyverse. While we may know them as meant-to-be, this Buffy and Angel are a pair of strangers who have been leading very different lives on separate paths,” said Jeanine Schaefer, Executive Editor, BOOM! Studios. “But now all roads lead to the Hellmouth, meaning these two heroes will finally meet face to face, altering the fates of everyone in the Buffyverse forever!”
The issue features covers by Mondo illustrator Marc Aspinall, Kevin Wada (She-Hulk), Becca Carey (Redlands), Daniele Di Nicuolo (Mighty Morphin Power Rangers), and more. There will also be a Hellmouth connecting cover by artists Kelly and Nichole Matthews (Jim Henson’s The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance).
Buffy The Vampire Slayer #8 goes on sale on September 4 at your favorite local comic shop. You can also head over to BOOM!’s web store or go digital on comiXology, iBooks, Google Play, and the BOOM! Studios app.
