Next month the much-anticipated second season of Peacemaker premieres Thursday, August 21, at 9pm ET/PT. It’s been more than three years since the first season aired, but as they saying goes, “Good things come to those who wait.” Considering how busy James Gunn has been between Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 and everything he’s been doing as co-head of DC Studios, it’s pretty remarkable he found time to fit the second season of Peacemaker into his schedule.
Among the many highlights of the first season was the viral opening title sequence set to the tune of Do Ya Wanna Taste It” by Wig Wam and choreographed by Charissa Barton. Gunn has promised the second season will feature a completely different opening sequence. There’s a very good chance that fans will get a sneak peek of the new Peacemaker opening sequence at the upcoming San Diego Comic-Con panel in just a few weeks. Whether or not it can live up the opening sequence remains to be seen. Peacemaker fans will definitely be pleased to see that the DC Shop has a Peacemaker Introduction Funko figure set available for pre-order.
As much as we wish the set could include more than the dozen characters featured in the show’s opening sequence, it had to limit to just Vigilante, Peacemaker, Leota and Eagly. At least there’s a separate Judomaster Funko figure available that collectors can place on the stage.
