Bad Karma #1, Panel Syndicate’s latest series from authors Alex De Campi (Bad Girls), Ryan Howe (Daisy Blackwood) and Dee Cunniffe (Runaways), is out now. The publisher dropped the news via Twitter, which was quickly followed by a thread from de Campi explaining that the series’ militaristic roots would be turned a bit, instead examining “the quiet rituals of male friendship,” and about “messy real families that don’t get along,” all absent of dead wife and/or lone wolf tropes.

The series is described as an action/thriller with disabled protagonists whose objectives are not only to kill others. To say the least, the series seems to be a true inversion of that stereotypical war story. As with all Panel Syndicate titles, Bad Karma is available at any price you feel comfortable paying. The publisher also recently dropped another new series, Friday, from Ed Brubaker, Marcos Martin and Muntsa Vicente.

Below is the official PR, followed by cover art. To read Bad Karma now, follow the link to Panel Syndicate.

“Happy NCBD! (New Comic Book Day for those of you who aren’t in the geeky know)

We are proud to welcome authors Alex De Campi, Ryan Howe & Dee Cunniffe with the debut of their newest series BAD KARMA, a character-based action/thriller!

Army veterans Sully and Ethan go on a Christmas road trip to free an innocent man blamed for a mercenary job they did. Turns out nobody’s interested in the truth, but they get very interested in making sure Sully and Ethan don’t live to see the New Year.

The 33-page first issue is available now in English, as usual, for whatever price you want to pay, including 0 (zero) at panelsyndicate.com!

Stay home and stay safe!”
