Mad Cave Studios’ Sunday afternoon panel at NYCC 2023 offered fans an exciting list of upcoming creator-owned, licensed, and original projects available now and in 2024, which also coincides with the company’s 10th anniversary.

Moderated by the publisher’s Editor-in-Chief Mike Marts and Senior Editor Chas Pangburn, panelists included Alex Segura, Alex Cormack, Amit Tishler, David Pepose, Jeremy Adams, Matt Emmons, Steve Orlando, Chris Batista, and Tommy Lee Edwards.

Marts began the panel stating, “Mad Cave is also expanding its publishing line. We’ll still be the home of fresh and exciting creator-owned projects and homegrown projects. But we’re also including new series that feature world-renowned characters, a few of which we’ll be talking about today.”

Flash Gordon (writer Jeremy Adams): The new series is a reimagining of the classic 1980 space opera cult classic. Available in July 2024.

Gatchaman (ongoing series writer Cullen Bunn, artist Chris Batista, essential tie-ins writer Steve Orlando, artist Tommy Lee Edwards): Based on the popular Japanese animated franchise created by Tatsuo Yoshida and produced by Tatsunoko Productions. The series follows five young superhero ninjas employed by Kōzaburō Nambu of the fictitious International Science Organization to oppose an international terrorist organization of technologically advanced villains who are trying to control Earth’s natural resources, such as water, oil, sugar, and uranium. Available in June 2024.

Dick Tracy (writers Alex Segura, Michael Moreci, artist Geraldo Borges): A new take on Chester Gould’s detective, the comic will feature all-new adventures as well as the character’s infamous rogues gallery. Available March 2024.

Crusader (writer/artist Matt Emmons): A Templar Knight finds himself transported to a dangerous realm known as the Beastlands.
