More of the character’s origin.

  1. I know, I know… no more negative comments. I just am not understanding this schlockfest at all. There is not one thing about the trailer that is either entertaining or interesting. The fight scene is dreadful! Aren’t the trailers suppose to be, in some sense, the best parts of the movie? Frank has so many personal cliches that he tries to force into his work, for instance, since when does the Spirit wear Converse Chuck Taylors? Is Frank always having a bad hair day, or what’s with the hat? Is this his trademark? He just reenforces the whole comic book-nerd stereotype. Thanks, Frank! Hollywood will quickly fall out of love, with the idea of turning comic books into movies, after this total bomb.

  2. Miller mentions that Colt is a police officer who is killed and mysteriously comes back to life and sort of has a healing power.

    Healing power????

    Since when???

  3. Cary- Since Colt was involved with the Weapon X program that gave him healing powers and .red Converse sneakers.

Yeah, the poster that came out last month with the sun shining through his bullet holes misses the mark. He can take the abuse and yet bleed, but he’s not Fearless Fosdick.

  4. SHUT UP, SHUT UP ,SHUT UP, ALL YOU NAYSAYERS! THIS IS GONNA BE THE BEST COMIC MOVIE EVER!!!! FRANK MILLER CAN DO NO WRONG!!!! EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS MOVIE LOOKS BITCHIN’!!!!! NO MORE NEGATIVE COMMENTS!!! DON’T YOU SUPPORT COMICS????? WHAT’S WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE?????

  5. SNOID – don’t get your cyber panties in a bunch, ok?

I’m all in support of this movie – but I’m just questioning why Miller would go on a PR spot and say something of the Spirit that is totally not true.

It kinda makes me wonder if I have a better understanding of the character than he does – and I didn’t really get into Eisner or appreciate much of his work until I got into my early thirties!!

  6. Cary, I like ANYBODY ELSE WITH EYES can see that this movie is gonna be one of the biggest pieces of crap ever made. Just making fun of Heidi’s no negative comments bulls.

  7. Snoid – whether it’s a piece of crap or not- I’m putting my full support behind it because you got to enjoy life where you can when it comes to this year’s plethora of comic book themed movies.

Because 2009 is going to be a pretty dry year with just Watchmen and Wolverine on the horizon.

I say, seize the comic book movie day – because it’s all good.
