Cartoonist and illustrator Adam de Souza is self-publishing two collections of comics, Mutt Mag and Blind Alley Volume 3 available this June and you can get them here.

Blind Alley Volume 3 collects this modern take on the classic newspaper comic strip, with an adorable cast of kids that get into bite-sized fun and mischief. This collection consist of comic strips from March 2024 to June 2025, along with formerly-Patreon exclusive Sunday strips.

A neighborhood full of sensitive kids and oddballs live with limited-to-no adult supervision. Where the parents are, where they work, and what’s even going on in the Alley is up for debate. Needless to say, the alley is a mysterious place. Adam de Souza presents a world where creatures lurk in the sewer, children talk to trees, and birds are cameras that report back to someone or something.

In this volume: Lula has a blossoming friendship with “Uncle Michael” the alley-cat. Ten deals with the emotional fallout of his mother’s passing. Sweetpea grapples with the limits of her powers and tangles with her jealous impulses. And Penny the dog tries to find her way back to the alley, along with many, many more stories!

Mutt Mag is a anthology collecting original stories as well as previous work, this volume contains seven endearing character-driven comics, including a brand-new short set in the world of Blind Alley, the vampire story “Zoonosis,” and the charming fairy tale romp “Brambles.” Also included are illustrations, reader mail, and an introduction from the author, all printed in a beautiful off-white paper in paperback form.

De Souza is known for his previous work on critically acclaimed graphic novel The Gulf (Check out our review here), the award-winning comic strip Blind Alley, and as a 2023 nominee for The Doug Wright Award for Emerging Talent.
