Today Microsoft Xbox announced a global celebration event. XO18, as it’s called, is a return for the company’s XO event where it would announce new games and happenings. The place for this return will be Mexico City as an attached piece to another Xbox event. Microsoft already holds multiple “Xbox Fan Fest” parties at major conventions where a segment of their audience gets to play unreleased games. With their Mexico City Fan Fest coming up on November 10, it appears to be the place Microsoft wants to talk about what’s next.

The return of XO could signify Microsoft has major things to talk about. Xbox is in need of some major news for potential customers to look forward to. It’s 2018 first-party games such as Sea of Thieves haven’t been as well received as the company would have hoped. November could be the perfect time to remind everyone that Xbox is the home of the Halo and Gears franchises as well as letting its fanbase know the recent acquisitions of studios Compulsion Games and Ninja Theory will be put to work sooner than later. It could also be the company’s jump on next-generation announcements.

We won’t have to wait long as 10,000 Xbox fans are expected for XO18 on Saturday, Nov. 10 which is part of the fourth-annual Xbox FanFest: Mexico City. If you can’t make it, the event will stream on Mixer and other social media platforms as well as xbox.com/X018.
