Marvel’s latest universe-spanning event, Avengers: Armageddon, sets up changes for Captain America, Spider-Man, Black Panther, and more.
The five-issue event series, written by Chip Zdarsky with art by Frank Alpizar and Delio Diaz, begins with Red Hulk taking control of Latveria following the 2025 event, One World Under Doom. Marvel previously announced 2 new titles spinning out of Avengers: Armageddon: Avengers by Zdarsky and Marco Checchetto and Maximum X-Men by Christopher Yost and Tony S. Daniel. Marvel announced today that upcoming issues CAPTAIN AMERICA #17, AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #1003 and BLACK PANTHER/NAMOR: DOOMED #3 will follow up on the events of Armageddon.
Captain America #17, written by Zdarsky and drawn by Ton Lima, will be the start of a new arc for the series. “In the aftermath of Armageddon, Captain America goes on the run with Vic, the child clone of Doctor Doom. The U.N.-backed S.H.I.E.L.D. has demanded Vic be turned over, pitting Cap against Nick Fury. Meanwhile, one of Cap’s oldest enemies returns!” Issue 17 will be released on November 11th and features cover art by Valerio Schiti.

Amazing Spider-Man #1003, written by Joe Kelly and drawn by Patrick Gleason, will kickoff a new, post-ASM #1000 storyline. More on the milestone 1000th issue of Amazing Spider-Man can be read here and here. From the press release, “Spider-Man races to stop a deadly assassin, while a staunch enemy turned ally of the wall-crawler returns to his old tricks! But tensions are high in the aftermath of Armageddon as Mayor Cage’s office and Spidey’s new favorite buds, Damage Control, try to keep a lid on an NYC ready to boil over.“ Issue #1003 will be released on November 11th and features a main cover by John Romita Jr.

BLACK PANTHER/NAMOR: DOOMED #3, written by Ethan S. Parker and Griffin Sheridan with art by Stefano Nesi continues Doctor Doom’s story following One World Under Doom. “Egos and masterminds collide as the enemy triumvirate of Black Panther, Namor and Doom must unite! But what happens when a greater enemy still targets all three for the one thing they share? Will they be able to set their own priorities aside and conquer the Kingkiller — or is this the beginning of the end for the monarchs of the Marvel Universe?!” Issue #3 (of 5) will be released on November 18th and features a main cover by Dave Johnson.
